The fact is I really do love conducting video interviews, especially with brilliant people! The other day, we got to spend two hours with Professor Vladimir Bulovic of MIT. We spent the time discussing his research areas which include quantum dot optoelectronics, large area electronics, strong QED coupling, and organic optoelectronics.

The craziest of which (from a knuckle head like me) was the organic optoelectronics where in no uncertain terms, he told of making an LED out of a pickle.

Of course as usual, Richard and I found ourselves meeting at the studio at 5am, packing the truck in the drizzling rain, and hitting the road before 6.

The interview was held at the Research Lab of Electronics.

We did our standard 2 camera shoot using our HD Sony HVR-Z7Us. This interview was shot on a black velvet background, so all we used as far as lighting was a Lowell Tota light inside a large Chimera.
